THE 300: Tank Profile

My Favorite of all the tanks I’ve owned! Hands down.  The Marineland 300DD has a terrific footprint at 3ft from front to back, 6ft wide, and a little over 2ft tall.  The stand and canopy on this tank are custom made by yours truly…  Almost all of the equipment has been purchased over the 8 years I’ve been in the hobby.  Tax refund checks help.

This tank is fully controlled and monitored from my Neptune Systems Apex Controller, I don’t know what I’d do without it!  It has saved my tank from disaster countless times.  For lighting I use 3 Ecotech Radion Gen 3 non-pro lights across the back and 3 AI Vegas across the front.   For Flow I use 2 Rossmont Mover MX4100 and 2 MX3500 pumps controlled by 2 Rossmont Wavers.  For Filtration I use a mammoth of a skimmer Bubble Magus C-99 and a bio pellet reactor Marine Source as well as a 20 gallon refugium.  I use a Koralin 3001 calcium reactor with a Masterflex peristaltic pump to feed the reactor.  I use a Jebao Doser to dose Acropower, potassium, Iodine and Iron.

This tank is mainly SPS (my favorite) but my wife likes zoas and soft corals so to keep the blessing and my marriage strong, the soft corals make their way in the tank.

I don’t do water changes on this tank if that’s what you’re asking.  However I do have it set up to do automatic water changes, I just haven’t had that system on in about a year and with the dosing, I don’t see a need to turn it back on.  I do always have roughly 100 gallons of RODI water just incase I need it.  I clean the filter socks in bulk but swap the old with new every week or so.  I clean the skimmer cup when its about half full.
